Is there a fire restriction band?

Elbert County, including Agate and all surrounding areas, is currently under a Stage II fire restriction. For more information about fire restrictions and their implications, please click here.

Do I need to obtain a burn permit?

Before engaging in any open burning, you are required to obtain a burn permit. All burn permits within the Agate Fire Protection District's area must be acquired through the Agate Fire Protection District. The permits are free of charge. To obtain the permit, please click here. Once completed please email the permit to agatefirechief@amtca.net Prior to any burning, verbal or written permission must be obtained.

What should I do in case of an emergency?

In case of a fire or medical emergency, call 911 immediately and follow the dispatchers procedures while waiting for our team.
